Regula Dettling-Ott is Vice-President EU Affairs for Lufthansa. In this function she is responsible to handle all matters related to aeropolitical and industry affairs at the EU for the Lufthansa group.
Prior to work for Lufthansa, Regula Dettling-Ott was Managing Director for International Relations & Government Affairs at Swiss International Air Lines, in charge of securing traffic rights for SWISS after the integration of the airline into Lufthansa and responsible for environmental affairs. Before joining SWISS, Regula Dettling-Ott worked for 15 years as an attorney, specializing in air law. She advised and represented airlines in various fields of public and private law. She handled legal issues as lead attorney in connection with major aviation accidents (liability, insurance and accident investigation) as well as regulatory matters such as airport restrictions.
Regula Dettling-Ott is a graduate of the University of Bern (Switzerland) and has done post-graduate studies at Georgetown University in Washington D.C. She holds a doctorate of the University of Bern, In 1993 she was admitted to the faculty of law at the University of Bern (Habilitation) and lectures on air law at the University of Bern. She has been a speaker at many international conferences on air transport and has published extensively in the field of air law. She has been nominated twice by her peers as one of the World’s leading aviation lawyers.
