About the Guest Speaker:
Mr. Wieland worked for the Hamilton company in various functions, as a development engineer and as an operations manager with responsibility for the entire logistics and production. In 1993 Andreas Wieland joined the Rhaetian Railway, where he was Vice Director responsible for railway operations and marketing. From there he moved to Tokyo in 1998 to work for Switzerland Tourism. For the next three and a half years, Andreas Wieland was Director Asia and member of the Management Board, responsible for marketing Switzerland’s tourism in the entire Asian region. Mr Wieland returned to Switzerland in 2001. Since then he has been working for Hamilton as head of the group.

The American family-owned company Hamilton is the world leader in medtech, sensor technology and laboratory automation. Since 1968, it has been operating its product development and production in Bonaduz in the canton of Grisons. The company employs around 2000 people, 850 of whom are based in Bonaduz. Hamilton is one of the leading suppliers in the field of automation in the life science and diagnostics segments and is the global market leader in dosing liquids in the microlitre range.
Since 2001 Andreas Wieland is also Chairman of the Board of Directors and CEO of the sister company Hamilton Medical AG, which manufactures and distributes ventilators for intensive care units worldwide. During the COVID19 pandemic, Hamilton Medical received a large order from the Swiss government for 900 ventilators.
