Japanese immigration authorities announce conditions for re-entry of foreign residents

June 15, 2020
Japan’s Ministry of Justice has published criteria that will allow some foreign residents to re-enter Japan despite a coronavirus-induced entry ban covering 111 countries.
The Japan Times has reported about a note in Japanese and English published last Friday evening on the website of the Immigration Services Agency. The document lists specific examples of medical issues and family-related circumstances that will allow foreign residents stranded overseas to return to Japan regardless of their visa status.
